In 2006 we realized the US Government is never going to
heal itself from within, and shifted our attention to creating the Earth
Intelligence Network, able to harness the tens of millions of informed
experts and engaged citizen observers. This non-profit non-governmental
activity will help restore informed democracy and moral capitalism that
serves We the People of all races, faiths, locations, and walks of life.

Environmental and congregational groups in the DFW area are taking
action and have come together to form the Citizen's Clean Air Network to
work for the best air plan possible.
Members of the Citizen's Clean Air
Network include:
The cement manufacturing industry is a significant source
of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) that contaminate the air we breath, the
water we drink, and the fish we eat. EPA’s own estimates reveal that the
nation’s cement kilns emit approximately 5 tons of mercury, 580 tons of
organic HAPs, and more than 15,000 tons of hydrogen chloride each year.

"Democracy Now" had a great show on
Wal-Mart
download it
here (go to Mon Nov 7th at 9:00am - download Democracy
Now and
also GoVegan Texas - they are doing membership drive that messes up the
schedule so it spreads across several regularly scheduled shows.)
When you get bad press from a show
as prominent and respected as Democracy Now and Amy Goodman - You've got a
PR problem
If you like to listen to very intelligent and
knowledgeable people talk about what's going today with regard to climate
change, as opposed to what US Officials say is going on, this is a great
site.
Also Waste Reports and a State Fact Sheet
Time to find out what you've been breathing.
Keep in mind this is 2002 data.
Has it gotten better - worse ?
With the current administrations
assault on our environment, bet's
are it didn't get better.
How much smoke is blowing over your house ?
How about your child's school playground ?
While I'm on the subject.
Does MISD have an Air Quality Policy ?
If the air-borne discharge from one of our
big factories is floating by/over/on one of the
schools, do the schools know about it
and do they have a policy in place to deal with it ?
In November 2003, the Bush administration issued a proposal to weaken
enforcement of the Clean Air Act to allow the nation's oldest and dirtiest
power plants, refineries, cement kilns and other industries to have a
lifetime license to pollute.
This is a nice site for those wanting to investigate
things that aren't being reported by our woefully incompetent national
media along with some things being actively covered up by those that take
our tax dollars as salary.
(hey, that means they work for us ... that means we are , in
large part, responsible for what they do. This is where your citizenship and
patriotism get tested)
"The
hope of the industry is that over time the market is so flooded [with GMOs]
that there's nothing you can do about it. You just sort of surrender," food
industry consultant Don Westfall, a food consultant who has worked with the
biotech industry, told the Toronto Star in 2001.

see link to station page and archive page below
Need a source of news and radio
content that seeks to really inform those that want to know what's going on,
not simply what others allow you to find out. This has become even more
important since the corporate controlled FCC has worked to allow more and
more broadcast sources to be controlled by fewer and fewer individuals.
It won't be long before the only news you will hear is
what news has been selected for you based on the special interests of those
controlling it
KPFT
in Houston is the Pacifica Radio station in this state and one of the best
sources for finding out about stuff that effects you (know it or not, it
still happens). They are what I wish 90.1 KERA would work towards. KERA is
great but is too much under the thumb of corporate sponsors.

Another site that will make you wonder about the things
you should be thinking about is
Bookmark this link as another great starting place to
find where all the really progressive people are (since they appear to have
vanished from print and broadcast media, what a surprise
).
They have gone to internet radio.
If your not mad, your not paying attention, and
Internet radio will help you pay attention.
If you get enough people to listen,
In the future it may not make you so mad.
Thank you Democratic party for including as one of
your election platforms - protecting seriously ill citizens from being
arrested by our federal government when they need medicine.
If you can't keep drugs out of our prisons,
how are you going to keep them out of the schools?
Let me see if I understand this ;
If we decriminalize Pot - lots of powerful
people will not get as much money, can you
say hogs at the public trough.
1. State and local authorities around the nation
will lose millions in federal money.
Oh yea, we got "Homeland Security" now.
2. Prisons (one of the fastest growing industries
in the nation) will lose millions in government money
when they can't jail as many people.
3. The alcohol industry will lose millions in
business since pot smokers tend to drink less
(assuming the alcohol industry will not be the one
to handle distribution of pot - entirely possible).
We won't talk about the truly needy that
could use pot as a medicine - they get arrested.
(see note above regarding prisons)
I know, lets make alcohol illegal,
Oh wait - that didn't work, it only
strengthened the black market. Shsss.
"Reality is that which,
when you stop believing in it,
doesn't go away."
Phillip K. Dick
This site has some really, really
interesting news about politics in Texas
"To announce that there must be no
criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right
or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to
the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt, 1918
Would you like to hear the real news instead of the weapons of mass
distraction put out by what is now only about 3 conglomerates that supply 80
% of the U.S. with news. It's not going to change anytime soon unless you
really want to know and act on it.
"Of course the people don't want war... But after all, it's the leaders
of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to
drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a
parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can
always be brought to the bidding of the leaders... That is easy. All you
have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists
for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
